Job Purpose: The role involves supporting plant operations through the execution of electrical and mechanical electronic tasks, alongside instrumentation controls, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of machinery in accordance with safety, predictive, and productive maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safe manufacturing operations by implementing electrical modifications as dictated by NEC codes and applicable standards.
  2. Conduct basic mechanical troubleshooting and perform electrical and hydraulic repairs as necessary.
  3. Execute preventative maintenance on mechanical or electrical systems and recommend procedures and spare parts to enhance operational efficiency.
  4. Provide training to operators as required.
  5. Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and maintain mechanical and electronic control/instrumentation systems and normal power systems using manuals, blueprints, hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and guidance from supervision.
  6. Assist in the installation and start-up of complex power and control/instrumentation systems.
  7. Collaborate with Engineering on the installation of simple to medium control and/or instrumentation systems.
  8. Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting major plant systems and mechanical components, including bearings, gearboxes, pumps, and chain drives.
  9. Inspect machinery or equipment by disassembling and testing to identify defects.
  10. Align and adjust equipment to meet specified tolerances.
  11. Modify equipment as needed, with or without blueprints, in conjunction with plant engineering.
  12. Assemble and start equipment to verify proper operation.
  13. Operate basic machine shop equipment to fabricate, repair, and install equipment or processes, utilizing brazing, soldering, and welding techniques.
  14. Perform basic carpentry tasks and install piping in compliance with regulatory and local codes.
  15. Navigate the MPulse Maintenance system to locate work request entries and document work performed.
  16. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement Teams and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  17. Maintain cleanliness in work areas and company property, following 5S principles.
  18. Engage in training and retraining as necessary and execute all duties as assigned by supervision or lead personnel.

Qualifications:

Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field, or five years of industrial electrical experience with advanced skills equivalent to or exceeding Journeyman's Certification. A minimum of five years of hands-on industrial mechanical experience, including pneumatic and hydraulic skills, is required.

Ability to comprehend and execute instructions from SDS sheets, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and job safety analysis (JSAs) is essential. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, equipment schematics, and service manuals is necessary.

Strong knowledge and experience in electrical, electronic controls, mechanical skills, hydraulics, pneumatics, logic, basic PLC systems, lubrication, welding, and general mechanical repair techniques are crucial. Candidates must be physically capable of performing work assignments and committed to an injury-free work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
