About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Grayson College. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing non-trade specific repairs to all campus buildings and assisting other trades as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and their mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the campus.
  • Assist other trades as requested, providing support and expertise to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including greasing equipment, oiling motors, changing belts, and replacing air filters.
  • Attend training sessions required by the supervisor to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including moving furniture, setting up for special events, and working on-call duty.
Requirements
  • High school education or GED required.
  • Two years of general maintenance experience, with experience working with utility vehicles and basic hand tools.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, withstand extreme temperatures, and lift 100 pounds.
  • Normal courtesy in dealing with others, with minimal contacts and routine, non-sensitive issues.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to unfavorable environments, including weather, body fluids, toxic laboratory and industrial chemicals, and confined, dirty, and noisy locations. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, such as masks, coats, gowns, boots, goggles, gloves, or shields.
