Job Description

BlueHalo Labs is seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. As an integral member of the BlueHalo Spacetech team, you will play a crucial role in developing high-performance electromechanical, electro-optic, control, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain general-purpose and mission-specific firmware
  • Design and implement digital signal processing algorithms using System on Chip (SoC) or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate FPGA-based solutions with General Purpose Processors (GPPs) and microcontrollers
  • Develop and maintain firmware for peripheral interfaces
  • Experience with Analog to Digital Converters
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 5 years of experience using Xilinx devices (Zynq, Virtex/Kintex) and toolchains (Vivado/ISE)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing using hardware description languages (VHDL or Verilog)
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols and standards
  • Experience with multiple clock-domain digital design techniques
  • Experience with in-system debuggers and logic analyzers
  • Experience designing and managing FPGA physical constraints
  • Experience with Tool Command Language (TCL)
  • Proven experience taking VHDL or Verilog designs to a hardware environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Xilinx SoC devices
  • Familiarity with Microchip devices (RTAX, ProASIC, RTG4)
  • Familiarity with FPGA floorplanning techniques
  • Familiarity with Xilinx System generator
  • Familiarity with other computing languages (C/C++, Python, Java)
