Concrete Craftsman

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Journeyman to join our team at Bechtel Construction Services. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality concrete finishes on our projects.

• Mixing and Preparing Concrete: Mixes grout, using a hoe or concrete mixing machine, and verifies mix specifics, including temperature and grout/water quantity.
• Quality Control: Flags concrete trucks and checks truck tickets to verify the correct mix is being used.
• Surface Preparation: Removes rough or defective spots from concrete using a grinder, hammer, and/or chisel.
• Finishing Touches: Wets and rubs concrete with an abrasive stone to impart the appropriate finish.
• Concrete Placement: Screeds, floats, and trowels poured concrete floors, walls, and sidewalks to specified textures using hand tools or power tools.
• Equipment Operation: Operates power trowels and concrete saws during paving operations.
• Jointing and Edging: Directs concrete to the forms and spreads it to a specified depth and workable consistency.
• Material Handling: Assists in lifting, positioning, and securing of materials and work pieces during installation.
• Cleanliness and Safety: Cleans tools and equipment and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to safely traverse uneven terrain with/without tools and building materials.
• Tool Operation: Safely operates power tools and equipment.
• Height and Ladder Work: Must be able to stand or walk on rebar mats (narrow surfaces) and climb ladders or stairs and work at heights.
• Adherence to Safety Procedures: Adheres to all safety procedures.
• Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 48 months of industrial construction experience.
