The Charge Nurse at Fairview Health Services is responsible for overseeing, guiding, and delegating all nursing activities within the assigned unit or floor, ensuring that care is delivered according to the established care plan. This role requires strong management capabilities, including effective problem-solving and decision-making skills. The Charge Nurse must ensure compliance with both State and Federal regulations, as well as Fairview's standards and policies for our Skilled Nursing Facility.
The Charge Nurse schedule includes:
- 16 hours per two-week pay period.
- Day shift hours; every other weekend required.
- Partial eligibility for benefits, including paid time off and retirement matching.
- Access to educational scholarships for those working 20 hours every two weeks.
- Early wage access available for cashing out wages before payday.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure staff adherence to State and Federal regulations, Nursing Standards of Practice, and Fairview Quality Assurance Standards.
- Maintain up-to-date care plans, medical records, and documentation.
- Administer medications and perform treatments as per physician orders and facility protocols.
- Identify and report issues to management, offering suggestions for improvement.
- Act as the facility supervisor and undertake administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing.
- One to three years of nursing experience.
- Current RN license in Minnesota by the start date.
- CPR/BLS certification.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Three to five years of nursing experience preferred.
- Previous management experience in long-term care preferred.
