About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team in a critical role that focuses on planning, coordinating, and managing disaster recovery efforts in the aftermath of natural and man-made disasters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive disaster recovery plans in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure maximum utilization of disaster recovery funds.
  • Manage grant funds, including tracking and reporting on expenditures and outcomes.
  • Build relationships with local, state, and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and community groups to facilitate effective disaster recovery efforts.
  • Provide expert advice on land use planning and its application to disaster recovery.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in disaster recovery management, preferably within the government sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of FEMA, CDBG, HMGP, and the American Rescue Plan Act.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing funding and grant money.
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or a related field is preferred.
