Transit Operator

We are seeking a skilled Transit Operator to join our team at Stanly County, NC. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation services to our citizens.
The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with special populations. Key Responsibilities:
- Drive and operate multi-passenger vehicles on assigned routes to transport passengers to and from destinations.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those with disabilities.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, passenger counts, and other relevant data.
- Collect fares and turn in receipt books and monies daily to the Transit Operations Supervisor.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid driver's license with a clean three-year driving record is necessary.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is required.
- CPR certification within six months of hire is also required.
Estimated Salary: $15.73 per hour (or DOQ)
