Position Summary


The Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining services. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting food temperatures, maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and processing payments using a computerized register, among other related tasks.

Adherence to Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines is essential. The role requires providing excellent customer service and effectively communicating with patrons and colleagues. The ability to build strong working relationships is crucial.

Maintaining quality control standards is a key responsibility.

Potential equipment operation includes grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, telephones, refrigerators, and freezers.

Experience in the food service industry is preferred.

Applicants should be able to work independently when necessary and possess a solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. The role demands the ability to be on your feet for extended periods and walk considerable distances.

Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Previous experience in customer service, cash handling, and food service is preferred. Candidates should be able to read, write, and follow both oral and written instructions, as well as perform basic math. On-the-job training will be provided.

Depending on the hiring location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a specified timeframe. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may also be necessary based on location requirements.
