About the Role

Willdan is seeking a highly skilled Building Code Compliance Specialist to join our team in Payson, Arizona. As a Building Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that buildings and construction sites comply with safety, structural, and building code regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Inspections: Perform inspections before, during, and after construction to verify compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Issue Violation Notices: Issue violation notices and stop-work orders as necessary to ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Provide Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors on structural and architectural issues and designs.
  • Review Construction Plans: Review assigned construction plans and engineering calculations for structural and architectural components to ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Document Results: Document the results of inspections and provide findings to homeowners and contractors.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Collaborate with other field inspectors and team members to ensure consistency and accuracy in inspections.
Requirements
  • ICC Certification: Must have ICC Certification(s) in Commercial and Residential Building Inspection.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in building inspection or a related field.
  • Municipal Experience: Municipal experience highly desirable.
