Key Responsibilities- Assist in the orientation of new staff members, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
- Evaluate and improve standards of patient care in the Radiology Department, promoting a culture of excellence.
- Function as a patient advocate, ensuring that each individual receives respectful and compassionate care.
- Maintain accurate inventory of medication in collaboration with the Department of Pharmacy, adhering to strict protocols.
- Participate in On-Call coverage as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to our patients' needs.
- Attend in-service programs and department meetings, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices.
- Follow guidelines for Radiation Safety as outlined in the MCHS Radiation Safety Policy Manual, prioritizing patient safety.
- Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence-based practice to inform decision-making.
- Assist providers with patient assessment, examinations, and treatments, performing basic medical procedures under their supervision.
- Administer medications under the direction of the provider, adhering to our organization's standards and guidelines.
- Assist in emergency situations, responding promptly and effectively to ensure patient safety.
- Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to patients and family members, promoting informed decision-making and empowerment.
- Document accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions, and outcomes for patients, adhering to documentation standards and guidelines.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers, as appropriate.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage patient care, including delegation to and supervision of other members of the patient care team.
- Basic computer skills required; prior experience using an EMR for charting preferred.
