Job Summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Field Airborne Support Team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the testing, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics and electronic systems on our aircraft.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operational Testing and Repair: Conduct operational tests and repairs of avionics and electronic systems to ensure defect-free aircraft.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide superior technical expertise in testing, troubleshooting, and repairing system discrepancies to ensure minimum schedule impact.
  3. Leadership and Training: Demonstrate leadership skills to define and implement process changes to reduce cost and meet schedule without compromising Safety or Quality. Provide training to personnel to support cross-training goals.
  4. On-Call Availability: Be available on an on-call basis, with the ability to be on site or dispatched within two hours of the initial contact from Gulfstream.
  5. Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, FAST flight crews, Tech Ops, Field Svc Rep, and Site Leadership. Coordinate with the Inspection Dept to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and doc requirements.
  6. Quality and Efficiency: Ensure quality and efficiency of installations, troubleshoots, and teaches troubleshooting processes/concepts to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  7. Additional Responsibilities: Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations. Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with the customer.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years experience in an avionics/electrical career field; or two (2) years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and four (4) years related experience. A & P license, FCC license, or NCATT certification preferred.
  2. Preferred Qualifications: Formal training in Gulfstream product line maintenance procedures and practices preferred. Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams. Self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas.
