Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medication administration, and other critical care interventions
  • Participate in code blue and rapid response team activations as needed

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a hospital setting, with a focus on ICU care
  • Active compact license in the state of Virginia
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Proficiency in the care of ventilated patients and titration of sedation, analgesia, and vasoactive cardiac medications
  • Medical ICU experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Schedule Information:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1 unit secretary
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs
  • Patient Ratios: 1:2-3
  • Weekends and On-call: Every other weekend
