Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Respond to Emergency Situations: Utilize your expertise to assess each call situation and determine the best course of action, working within progressive Paramedic protocols.
  • Provide Advanced Medical Care: Utilize medical equipment and procedures, including defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids, to provide advanced medical care to patients.
  • Communicate with Patients and Families: Communicate effectively with patients and their loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
  • Lead Paramedic Teams: Act as a team leader and take responsibility for scene and unit management as needed.
  • Operate Ambulances: Drive ambulances on 911 responses.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with allied health and public safety personnel, as well as fellow Paramedics.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • State Paramedic License: Hold a valid state Paramedic license.
  • State Driver's License: Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Certifications: Hold BLS, ACLS, and NREMT-Paramedic certifications.
  • Driving Record: Maintain a driving record in compliance with company policy.
  • Physical Agility: Pass a physical agility test.
  • Work Experience: Possess some work experience, preferably in healthcare.
