Job Title: Devops Tools SME

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps professional to lead the optimization of our DevOps tools and processes. In this role, you will drive continuous integration, deployment, and automation initiatives, leveraging your expertise to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to expert on DevOps tools, evaluating and recommending solutions that align with our business objectives.
  • Assess current processes and toolchains, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that boost efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git, or Azure DevOps.
  • Collaborate with teams to define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Monitor security controls to support comprehensive compliance initiatives.
  • Manage and implement containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes, enabling scalable and portable deployments.
  • Provide mentorship and training on best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the team.

Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance (required due to contract).
  • Bachelors degree (equivalent experience will be considered).
  • 12+ years of experience in the field, with extensive knowledge of DevOps tools and processes.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Strong experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
  • Hands-on experience with common software tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Jira, and VMware.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently, supporting mission-critical operations across geographically diverse locations.

Location:

  • Must reside near Annapolis Junction, MD, with the ability to report on-site as required.
