Nurse Assistant/Phlebotomist FT Nights

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is a vital member of the MercyOne Trinity Health healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a registered professional nurse. This role involves providing holistic, compassionate, and effective patient care by assisting with activities of daily living and meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
• Record and report vital signs, intake and output, weight, and behavioral changes to supervisory personnel.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment by organizing equipment and supplies.
• Assist with mealtime activities, including delivering and removing patient trays and feeding patients.
• Perform additional duties as requested, such as transporting patients and obtaining medications, supplies, and medical records from other departments.
Requirements:
• Must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certification in a 75-hour CNA certification program is required, and active registration on the Iowa registry is necessary for long-term care nurse assistants in Iowa.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
• Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter.
Work Environment:
This role requires working flexible hours and being able to work in a variable and unpredictable environment. The employee will be exposed to marked changes in temperature and humidity, infectious diseases, hazardous waste, and chemicals. The ability to see, speak, and hear is essential for this position.
