POSITION SUMMARY AND REQUIREMENTS

Role Overview:
The Hospitalist is responsible for delivering care to adult patients with general medical conditions, serving as either the admitting or consulting physician.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an MD or DO degree and hold Board Certification in the relevant specialty, along with substantial experience in managing hospitalized patients. A valid license from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners is required, as well as being a member in good standing of the St. Tammany Parish Hospital Medical Staff.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates should maintain good physical health, with the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. The role necessitates lifting a minimum of 20 pounds and functioning in a moderately noisy environment.
Physical Effort:
- Constant (67%-100%): handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
- Frequently (34%-66%): reaching
- Occasionally (1%-33%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching
