Job Description:

As a Principal Data Modeler at Fidelity Investments, you will play a key role in designing and implementing data models for our digital asset platform. You will work closely with product teams, data engineering teams, architecture, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

You will be responsible for leading data modeling efforts in support of our crypto trading platform, modeling various domains and entities in scope, and enhancing existing data models as the business evolves. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models, as well as maintaining relevant documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement data models for our digital asset platform
  • Collaborate with product teams, data engineering teams, architecture, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements
  • Lead data modeling efforts in support of our crypto trading platform
  • Model various domains and entities in scope
  • Enhance existing data models as the business evolves
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data models
  • Maintain relevant documentation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data modeling, design, and implementation
  • Strong SQL knowledge and experience with databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Teradata
  • Hands-on experience with metadata management, data modeling, and related tools
  • Good knowledge of data modeling principles and standard methodologies
  • Ability to define data modeling standards and guidelines
  • Strong experience in data modeling activities supporting history handling, time series data warehousing, and data transformations
  • Ability to quickly grasp technological and business concepts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Alation, Collibra, and other data cataloging and data lineage tools
  • Strong understanding of data governance processes and metadata repositories
