Job Summary:
The RN provides nursing care to patients in compliance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act, Standards of Practice, and defined by ANA, ENA, BSBHS, and organization protocols, policies, procedures, and guidelines. The Emergency Department Nurse develops, implements, evaluates, and revises plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs of the patient/family. Assessing patient changes may hinder recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with staff, physicians, and other disciplines to provide quality care delivery
- Maintains clinical knowledge and skills competency to facilitate patient care in accordance with current standards of practice
- Provides a safe patient care environment
Requirements:
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
- Current RN licensure with Maryland Board of Nursing or Compact State (if resident of that state)
- Minimum 2 years Nursing Experience specific to Emergency Services or 3-5 years of other acute care experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- BLS required
- ACLS within 6 months of hire
- PALS and Hazmat within one year of hire
- Certification in Emergency Nursing Preferred
