Unit Overview: The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is a spacious, inpatient unit that specializes in the care of patients recovering from open-heart surgery. We also provide care for individuals undergoing advanced procedures through our Structural Heart Program, including Transapical Valve Replacement (TAVR), Convergent Maze, Mitraclip, and Watchmen.
Scope of Services: Our services encompass heart failure management, chest pain treatment, life-threatening arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, device therapy (AICD, Pacemakers), electrophysiology studies, and ablations. Our highly skilled team is dedicated to monitoring adult patients who require continuous assessment of their health status.
Our Mission: Through innovative technology and exceptional care, we aim to enhance the health and quality of life for cardiac patients by utilizing research-based treatments and interventions. This commitment is essential in achieving recognized world-class healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume direct and indirect responsibility for the patient's care environment.
- Deliver care in collaboration with healthcare team members while applying the nursing process autonomously.
- Mentor and lead other healthcare team members.
- Coordinate and delegate care in a safe, secure, and clean environment.
- Practice within the framework of the Department of Nursing and adhere to the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
- Comply with all TMH policies, procedures, and requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
