Job Summary

Arepet Express, LLC is seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team in McAllen, TX. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with drivers to dispatch and deploy staff and vehicles based on orders received.
  • Schedule loads while utilizing and maximizing driver hours and loaded miles.
  • Prioritize orders according to urgency and importance, utilizing resources effectively to meet priorities.
  • Anticipate and address change and/or problems, reallocating resources efficiently.
  • Manage and adjust forecasted loads based on customer needs.
  • Make informed decisions under time constraints and take accountability for those decisions.
  • Utilize effective listening skills to gather information and/or identify potential problems, escalating information when necessary to management.
  • Manage and track driver logs, tickets, and other documents.
  • Monitor the route and status of field units to coordinate and prioritize driver schedules.
  • Provide drivers with information about orders, traffic, obstacles, and requirements.
  • Enter data in computer systems and maintain logs and records of calls, activities, and other information.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and high level of accountability.
  • Basic understanding of clerical procedures and systems such as record-keeping and filing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Oil field experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Knowledge of McLeod software preferred.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma, General Education degree (GED), or equivalent.
  • Six months experience in transportation/trucking industry preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and telephone.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Must be available to work day and night shifts.
