Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at PCH Princeton Community Hospital in Bluefield, WV. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, as outlined in the patient's plan of care and/or as directed by the Registered Nurse, to promote comfort and/or return to functional health for the patient.
  • Assist physicians and the Registered Nurse with examinations and procedures, as assigned.
  • Accurately observe, record and report to the Registered Nurse, all patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the development of the patient's plan of care by providing data, contributing to the identification of priorities and assisting in the identification of measures to maintain comfort and support human functions and responses.
  • Document nursing interventions and responses to care, communicating to appropriate members of the health care team.
Requirements
  • Current unencumbered licensure with the WV Board of Practical Nursing, or appropriate state board where services will be provided, as a practical nurse OR current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Working Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. The employee must be able to lift, move, and position patients, as well as stand, walk, and carry or move materials and equipment weighing 40+ lbs.

The employee must also be able to work around biohazards, infectious diseases, and deceased patients, as well as work with electrical hazards associated with patient care equipment.

This position is scheduled to work 36 hours per week, with a night shift schedule.
