Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant

United Digestives is seeking a highly skilled Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our anesthesia department, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based anesthesia services.
Responsibilities- Assist in evaluating patients prior to endoscopy procedures, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients during and post-procedure under the medical direction of a qualified anesthesiologist.
- Perform pre-screening evaluations, gather pre-operative data, and conduct preliminary pre-anesthesia evaluations and physical exams.
- Administer pre-anesthetic medications, obtain and prepare equipment, and perform safety checks as needed.
- Assist in airway management, facilitate recovery from anesthesia, and administer post-anesthesia pharmacological or fluid support.
- Evaluate patient response to anesthesia and endoscopy, take corrective action during the post-anesthesia period, and participate in post-anesthesia evaluation and care.
- Current active state licensure as a certified anesthesiologist assistant and compliance with applicable state statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Graduate of an anesthesiologist assistant educational program supported by an anesthesiology department of a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education.
- Current certification or recertification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants.
- One to three years of anesthesia experience, prior endoscopy experience a plus; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general use of an EMR system.
- Ability to perform clinically as a CAA in the endoscopy setting.
- Ability to operate, use, and interpret data from a wide variety of equipment to perform anesthesia care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with clinical staff and other disciplines.
- Participation in required educational programs and net learning.
- Participation in departmental meetings.
- Seeking ongoing professional educational growth.
Ability to work under stress, moderate periods of sitting and computer use, good visual acuity, and ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods, lifting, and carrying items weighing up to 25 pounds. Travel as business needs dictate.
