Purpose:

The Safety Lane Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of Marten Transport's tractor and trailer fleet. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a strong understanding of DOT regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with regulations.
  2. Work closely with shop and driving staff to address any safety concerns and provide coaching and guidance as needed.
  3. Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs, including labor and parts charges.
  4. Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including those related to safety, EPA regulations, and labor standards.
  5. Perform yard checks and monitoring to ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
  6. Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong mechanical skills and a clear understanding of the company's equipment and maintenance procedures. You should also be able to read and write English fluently and have basic computer skills.

In addition, you must be able to lift at least 50 pounds and work in a variety of climates, including extreme temperatures.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. You must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.
