Workforce Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Workforce Development Specialist. As a key member of our workforce development team, you will play a critical role in connecting individuals with employment opportunities and providing them with the skills and training needed to succeed in the workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend community events and activities to promote employment services and connect with employers and community organizations.
- Maintain regular contact with employers to monitor employment satisfaction and suggest refinements to better prepare participants and meet employer hiring needs.
- Assist in the development and documentation of job duties and follow up with employer/participant surveys to ensure program satisfaction and success.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with local employers, colleges, military, and social service agencies to fulfill contractual objectives.
- Enter data collected on client and employer activity in internal and/or state systems and maintain accurate participant records.
Requirements:
- Related Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred.
- 2+ years relevant work experience hiring, training, and managing staff, with past experience working with the targeted population.
- Excellent people skills and ability to build relationships, with a basic knowledge and understanding of issues that affect people with barriers and disabilities.
- Valid state driver's license and ability to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and drive for business purposes, with up to 40% travel required.

Eckerd Connects provides Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services through contracts with the U.S. Department of Labor and local workforce boards, partnerships, and strategies to provide and create a career pathway for youth, adults, and dislocated workers. Training services include occupational skills training, customized training, on-the-job training, incumbent worker training, and transitional employment opportunities.
