The position requires face-to-face leadership and may involve early morning responsibilities. As an Early Learning Assistant Teacher, you will assist in planning, developing, and implementing daily lesson plans for early childhood education programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead daily lesson plans with the Site Coordinator/Supervisor
  • Engage actively with children in the classroom
  • Assist with parent communication and maintain records of attendance
  • Prepare materials for daily activities
  • Maintain supervision of children

You will work closely with the teaching team to ensure smooth operations and excellent service to members. If you are passionate about early childhood education and have a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or CDA preferred; three to six months childcare experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required
  • CPR Certification required within 60 days
  • First Aid Certification required within 60 days
  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
  • Fingerprinting
  • DHS clearance
  • Negative T.B. skin test
  • Documentation of physical exam

We offer a competitive salary range of $14.62 - $18.28 per hour for this part-time, non-exempt position. In addition to your hourly wage, you will also receive benefits such as free YMCA Individual Membership, 10% retirement contribution upon eligibility, and access to the Employee Assistance Program and resources for you and your family.
