Sunnyvale, California, United States Walmart Full time

About the Role

As a Senior UX Designer at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the way people engage with our products and services. Your unique skill set will enable you to distill complex problems into easy-to-understand experiences that meet people needs across global markets. Your work will bring clarity to our customers, making their experiences more enjoyable and intuitive.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Product Designers throughout the design process at different engagement levels that span from consulting to owning initiatives. Explain to stakeholders when a solution needs to go beyond UI text changes to address the problem and make recommendations backed with user data. Keep a global perspective in your discoveries, apply user-centered design principles to your analyses, and use these insights to influence stakeholders about your choices. Simplify complex ideas into clear, concise, actionable, and easy-to-read UI text in US English for our commerce platform, prioritizing localizability for our markets such as Mexico, Canada, and Chile. Participate in peer reviews to ensure consistency and alignment to our brand voice and design system guidelines. Manage effectively the iterative nature of the design process with stakeholders to ensure delivering solutions that align with the business and deliver on the user need. Articulate clearly the content needs about projects to other partners to ensure there's clarity around expectations. Use Jira on a day-to-day basis to create brief-like project descriptions during kickoffs, estimate work, communicate dependencies, inform program teams, and keep deliverables on track. Collaborate effectively with UX Research, Accessibility, Localization, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Legal teams through the product development cycle to ensure the content is user-centered, accessible, culturally sensitive, aligned with the product vision, technically feasible, and legally compliant. Document and flag issues to the UX Lead when decisions compromise the integrity of the experience to ensure that MVP approaches meet the user needs and the team standards. Participate in design sprints and provide content design expertise to the solution. Deliver files ready in Figma free of errors like typos and with accessibility annotations. Evolve and improve Content Design team resources, including best practices and style guides to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy of content across the platform. Partner with the Localization team and in-market advisors to ensure the highest quality of product adaptation for the market.

Requirements

Proven experience of 3+ years in Content Design or UX Writing for global platforms. Familiarity with user-centered design principles, user research, and usability testing. Proficient in writing and editing US English. Strong communication, time management, and collaboration skills. Experience in adapting source content for localization teams to expand the product into multiple languages. Familiarity with applying WCAG standards and collaborating with accessibility teams. Strong command of Figma for team collaboration, idea experimentation, and final content delivery to engineers. Experience with Jira, Confluence, and Mural. Must have a portfolio with at least three UX case studies showcasing your craft, impact, and collaborative process.

What We Offer

At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet. Health benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage. Financial benefits include 401(k), stock purchase, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off benefits include PTO (including sick leave), parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting. Other benefits include short-term and long-term disability, company discounts, Military Leave Pay, adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, and more.
