Position Overview:

Role:
Outpatient Medication Nurse - Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Work Schedule:
  • As needed Monday and Friday from 4:30 AM to 12 PM
  • Saturday from 5 AM to 10 AM

Your Role as a Nurse:
The Outpatient Medication Nurse plays a vital role in the treatment and recovery of patients facing opioid use challenges.

Nurses are responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of medication doses to patients under the guidance of the Medical Director or Physician.

This role includes thorough and precise documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate under the supervision of the Medical Director and Clinic Director;
  • Uphold professional nursing standards of care;
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the Medical Director or Program Physician in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Maintain accurate records of all medications received and dispensed;
  • Document medication administration in nursing notes promptly and accurately;
  • Record nursing care provided and maintain appropriate patient progress records accurately and in a timely manner;
  • Ensure the safekeeping of all medication stock and adhere to regulatory requirements;
  • Dedicate a minimum of 90% of scheduled work hours to medication administration activities, with the remaining time allocated to other assigned tasks;
  • Conduct urine collection and processing, interpret test results as directed by Program Physicians, and complete all necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

Education, Skills, and Experience:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program
  • Preferred experience of at least 1 year in behavioral health, outpatient treatment, or addiction recovery
  • Training or experience in medication-assisted treatment is highly desirable
  • No history of alcohol or drug misuse for at least three years prior to employment

Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid LPN license in Pennsylvania.
