Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Bailers and Equipment
    • Remove incoming containers to the baler staging area;
    • Transfer materials from storage trucks to the baler;
    • Load and operate the baler according to established procedures;
    • Unload completed bales according to established procedures and place them in holding areas;
    • Move bales from holding areas to bale storage areas;
    • Transfer bales to tractor trailers from bale storage areas using material handling equipment;
    • Maintain bale storage areas according to guidelines;
    • Move Gaylord containers to donated goods storage areas.
  • Meet Warehouse Goals and Objectives
    • Follow warehouse guidelines for salvage production goals and monthly revenue totals;
    • Effectively manage personnel, fiscal, and logistical resources based on mission requirements.
  • Transportation and Logistics
    • Ensure effective and timely transportation of merchandise/salvage and supplies in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Safety and Training
    • Remain trained in all aspects of equipment/material handling safety procedures according to organization guidelines;
    • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Donated Goods Center by remaining cross-trained on all other retail store back room operations and performing all other tasks as assigned.
Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations. This position is required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Language Skills
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as time cards and policy manuals;
  • Ability to write routine reports;
  • Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly to other employees and customers.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually working in a comfortable and store environment. The employee will be exposed to the donation processing area, which is a factory-like environment.
