Position Overview:

The Hospitalist plays a critical role in delivering medical services to patients during their hospital stay. This position involves ensuring a seamless transition of care upon discharge by effectively communicating the patient's hospital journey, discharge medications, pending diagnostic tests, and follow-up instructions to the primary care provider and relevant consultants.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to meet the healthcare needs of patients, including participation in interdisciplinary rounds and maintaining daily communication with the care team.
  • Deliver quality medical services in accordance with qualifications as an internal medicine or family practice physician, ensuring appropriate referrals, follow-up, and hospitalization.
  • Support hospital medical staff and local physicians by overseeing the inpatient experience and providing follow-up care in the outpatient setting.
  • Communicate health status and treatment plans clearly to patients, families, and hospital staff.
  • Document patient information thoroughly for care and billing purposes, and assist in reviewing workflow and office practices.
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and other individuals in graduate health education programs.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should possess the following:

  • Doctorate of Medicine (MD) required
  • Current Physician License in the state of Colorado
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Additional certifications may be required based on practice setting or credentialing standards

Physical Requirements:

This role involves medium work, which may require exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
