Job Responsibilities- Supervises individuals in custody according to agency regulations and standards.
- Monitors individuals in custody and communicates behavior and reactions to other professional team members.
- Participates in ongoing training to enhance skills and improve proficiency in delivering specialized services to individuals in custody.
- Ensures individuals in custody have access to necessary medical services.
- Maintains assigned areas in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
- Facilitates the movement of individuals in custody to and from various destinations, including correctional centers, courts, and hospitals.
- Performs additional duties as required or assigned within the scope of the above responsibilities.
- Successful completion of the Corrections Treatment Officer Training Program is required.
- Working knowledge of behavioral issues and interventions to promote appropriate behaviors.
- Understanding of the nature and treatment of mental health issues or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform assigned duties is required.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel statewide are necessary.
- Ability to carry a firearm is required.
- Must pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
- Must pass a drug screening; unauthorized drug use is prohibited.
- Compliance with all vaccine and medical standards set by the employer is required.
