About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations and Donor Engagement Specialist to join our team at Goodwill Industries of Akron. As a key member of our Public Relations and Marketing department, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to help individuals prepare for, find, and retain employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with public and donor relations activities, including research and writing grants to support our agency and other requested support for the Fund Development and Special Events Department.
  • Support the agency in all external and internal communications efforts, including developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote our programs and services.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Public Relations and Marketing to develop and implement public relations and marketing plans to achieve our goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners to promote our mission and programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of special events and campaigns to promote our programs and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in public relations/marketing preferred.
  • Excellent skills in written and verbal communications.
  • Fluency in desktop publishing programs and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience in Canva or design software preferred.
  • Experience in eTapestry/Blackbaud, Give Smart and/or other special event software preferred.
