Key Responsibilities:

I. General Duties

II. Ordering Responsibilities

  • Submit departmental orders by specified deadlines.
  • Optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts while ensuring efficient turnover.
  • Guarantee adequate supplies of promotional and seasonal merchandise.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to enhance ordering skills and resolve issues.
  • Work alongside the department Coordinator to introduce new items and phase out discontinued products.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Coordinator regarding customer inquiries and product concerns.
  • Assist in managing vendor credits and address issues related to damages, shortages, and returns.
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy prior to submission to the finance team.

III. Maintenance Duties

  • Help maintain visually appealing, fully stocked, and organized department sections.
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the department on a daily basis. Stock products as assigned, following safe stocking procedures.
  • Maintain organized backstock at appropriate levels.
  • Communicate with the finance department regarding credit or invoice discrepancies.
  • Keep accurate records of inventory shrinkage and calculate extensions as required.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts and assist in calculating inventory extensions.
  • Perform backup receiving tasks as directed by the Stockroom Supervisor.
  • Contribute insights for setting annual sales, margin, and inventory turnover goals.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in stocking or inventory management.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs independently and 75 lbs with assistance; perform repetitive motions; and climb ladders.
  • Capability to handle various food items.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and internet research.
  • Ability to produce quality work within set deadlines.
  • Experience in retail or public service.
  • Knowledge of natural foods and familiarity with organic and non-GMO products.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining composure.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Reliability for scheduled shifts and flexibility in working hours.

Desired Skills:
