Job Summary:

As a member of OB Residency, the successful candidate will participate in the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of OBGYN patients, as defined by the Collaborative agreement between the NP and the collaborating physician.

This position involves a team-based approach to care, where team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role, as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines.

The ideal candidate will be trained and assigned to coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.

They will also be trained and assigned to manage the practices' patient population, participate in the practice's quality improvement process, and performance evaluation.

Education:

Required:

A Master's Degree in nursing with certification in family and/or adult nurse practitioner, or a Master's degree in Physician Assistant program, from a nationally accredited school of nursing.

De-escalation training is also required.

Experience:

Required:

A minimum of three years of experience in a physician office setting.

Preferred:

Certification in areas of specialty.

Position Requirement(s):

Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee, eligibility to sit for certification in area of specialty, and Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.

Department Position Summary:

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the physicians/medical director, developing evidence-based protocols and utilizing them to develop an individualized plan of care.

They must be able to collect, document, and analyze patient data, collaborate with the healthcare team in the development and implementation of testing and treatment according to protocols, and participate in development and implementation of health screening programs for adolescents and adults.

They must also demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over their life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status.

They must interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
