Overview
The Material Sorting Specialist plays a crucial role in the efficient handling and categorization of materials on the conveyor system.

Key Responsibilities:
To excel in this position, the individual must effectively manage the following tasks:

• Examine materials and categorize items into designated areas based on type, size, condition, color, or grade.

• Remove contaminants from materials and maintain cleanliness in the work area.

• Organize and stack boxes and pallets, as well as dispose of materials appropriately.

• Feed materials onto the conveyor system, ensuring a smooth flow of operations.

• Maintain cleanliness of the conveyor and surrounding areas, ensuring a safe work environment.

• Monitor equipment performance and ensure proper operation and speed of machinery.

• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for equipment operation and maintenance.

• Report any safety concerns or equipment issues promptly.

• Participate in regular safety and operations meetings.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
The following qualifications are essential for this role:

• Required: A minimum of three months of relevant experience or training.

• Preferred: High School Diploma and at least three months of related experience.

Work Environment:
This position involves physical demands and exposure to various environmental factors, including:

• Use of motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

• Physical effort in handling objects weighing less than 30 pounds.

• Exposure to potential occupational hazards such as cuts, burns, and chemicals.

• Working in an environment with dirt, odors, noise, and varying weather conditions.
