Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman

Muller is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, managing a small crew, and ensuring the successful completion of various earthwork projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, mini excavators, and bobcats, to facilitate the completion of earthwork projects.
  • Manage a 3-4 man crew on a daily basis, ensuring efficient and safe operation of equipment and crew members.
  • Install erosion control measures, such as silt fence and super silt fence, to prevent soil erosion and protect the environment.
  • Excavate for and build bioretention facilities, rain gardens, ponds, sediment basins, and other stormwater management facilities/BMPs.
  • Muck out and re-grade ponds to ensure proper water flow and drainage.
  • Shoot grades for stakeout and read/interpret cut sheets to ensure accurate and efficient project completion.
  • Fine grade to achieve precise and smooth surfaces.
  • Install underdrain on roadway projects to prevent water accumulation and ensure safe driving conditions.
  • Complete other grading and excavation needs per the request of our clients.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Ability to efficiently operate mini excavators and/or bobcats, with experience operating full-sized excavators, loaders, and dozers a plus.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage crew members and interact with clients.
  • Reliable transportation to the yard in Manassas, VA.
  • Current and valid Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:

Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Regularly required to sit and stand, use hands to fingers, handle or feel, and verbally communicate and listen. Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
