Overview:

ASM Global, a premier entity in the management of public assembly venues, is actively seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the establishment and execution of financial management goals and priorities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and organizational policies.
  • Facilitates event settlements and assists in their preparation.
  • Conducts bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Supports the creation of comprehensive financial reports.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial statements for stakeholders and prepares various financial documents, including monthly reports and budgets.
  • Maintains meticulous records of financial transactions.
  • Oversees general and subsidiary ledgers, ensuring accuracy in accounts receivable and expense tracking.
  • Verifies the correctness of general ledger entries.
  • Engages in cost analysis and financial assessments.
  • Prepares and evaluates data for financial statements and reports.
  • Generates forecasts of future costs and revenues.
  • Conducts internal audits to review financial and administrative controls.
  • Coordinates the preparation of materials for external audits and collaborates with auditors to verify financial information.
  • Implements system controls for new financial systems and seeks improvements for existing processes.
  • Reviews financial statements with management.
  • Establishes and maintains new accounting procedures and controls.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

May oversee select staff within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • Completion of an online employment application.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation is required.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution, or an Associate's degree in Accounting with substantial relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with public or government accounting standards is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Understanding of general and cost accounting principles.
  • Strong mathematical skills and a solid grasp of accounting methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Computer Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience with commercial accounting software is advantageous.
Other Qualifications:
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this role require the employee to navigate the facility and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
