">Job Description:
As a Recreational Therapist at our client's correctional facility in Tehachapi, California, you will play a vital role in implementing specialized recreation therapy services for patient-inmates and/or DJJ youth.
You will work under the guidance of the institution's CEO or their designated representative to develop and implement therapeutic interventions that foster social interaction, encourage beneficial use of leisure time, and prepare patients for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement recreation therapy services tailored to meet the needs of patient-inmates and/or DJJ youth.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT) to coordinate services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and custody personnel.
- Assess recreation therapy needs, focusing on activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- An active Recreational Therapist license issued by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC).
- At least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years.
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED).
- Proficiency in the English language, both speaking and writing.
About This Job:
