OBJECTIVE:
TASKids is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist with a robust clinical background in pediatric speech-language services, particularly within Early Intervention Programs. Our organization provides comprehensive Speech, Occupational, and ABA services tailored for children with special needs in the Richmond and Colonial Heights regions. Services are offered through various funding sources including Tricare, Medicaid, and private health insurance.
We are in search of a Speech and Language Pathologist who values teamwork and collaboration as essential components in enhancing communication skills for children. We are committed to nurturing a strong, cooperative team environment. Our ideal candidate is enthusiastic about creating and executing innovative treatment plans that align with ABA and occupational therapy services.
While our practice serves a significant number of children affected by autism, we also evaluate and treat a diverse range of developmental delays and disorders in children not on the autism spectrum. Candidates will receive support from our clinical team and collaborate closely with our speech department staff, conducting direct services and evaluations. Clinical fellows are encouraged to apply.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of speech and language domains including receptive and expressive language, articulation, phonology, apraxia, oral motor skills, feeding, pragmatics, and auditory processing, with a focus on ages 0-36 months.
- Deliver professional speech therapy services to families of children with developmental disabilities.
- Conduct evaluations and provide treatment for speech, language, or hearing disorders.
- Engage in developmental screenings and assessments, offering speech therapy services and consultations to families and other professionals.
- Utilize strong communication skills to interact effectively with parents and staff.
- Research and implement the latest evidence-based practices to ensure our services remain current.
- Oversee early intervention programs and collaborate with OT and ABA staff.
- Assist the administrative team with clinical concerns from staff and parents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director within the scope of practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
- Must hold a valid Virginia license to practice Speech Therapy.
- Demonstrated interest in coordinating care with behavior analysts and other professionals to enhance outcomes.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
