Job Overview

YAI is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at the Holbrook Residence. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting the independence and self-advocacy of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
  • Utilize effective communication and time management skills to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
  • Participate in mandatory trainings and apply skills to support individuals with ADLs.
  • Ensure health, wellness, and safety by managing crisis situations and providing supervision.
  • Transport and escort individuals on recreational activities, medical appointments, and home visits.
  • Build positive relationships and maintain a therapeutic environment through various methods.
  • Complete documentation to ensure compliance and billing.
  • Apply foundational teaching skills to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Work or life experience in the intellectual and developmental disabilities field is a plus.
  • Ability to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Valid Driver's License may be required depending on the position.
