Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at UNC Health. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
  • Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
  • Perform quality control and equipment maintenance in the laboratory.
  • Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
  • Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere with them regarding test results.
  • Review test results to ensure accuracy of report and timely correction of errors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements upon hire to sit for MT exam within 12 months of hire.
  • Must become MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certified within 12 months of hire.
  • No prior experience required.

Work Environment

Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. Day shift with occasional weekend rotation.

Salary Range

$24.13-$34.70 (Hiring Range)

Pay offers are determined by experience and internal equity.
