Job Summary

Chesterfield County, VA is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team as a School Resource Officer. This is a critical safety-sensitive position that requires a strong commitment to public safety and community service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct victim, witness, and suspect interviews
  • Prepare detailed police reports
  • Make arrests and testify in court
  • Interact with community members and perform other police functions as assigned
Requirements
  • Must be a former police officer with no more than two years separation from previous employment
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia driver's license with no more than six demerit points in the past twelve months or a DUI conviction within the past four years
  • Must have binocular vision of 20/25 corrected
  • Must have weight in proportion to height
  • Must pass an extensive FBI criminal background investigation, including a polygraph, psychological, medical, and pre-employment drug screening
Working Conditions

This position is subject to working in high-security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
