Job Summary:
As a pivotal member of our healthcare team, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operations of nuclear medicine technologists. This role encompasses the preparation, administration, and measurement of radioactive isotopes utilized in both therapeutic and diagnostic procedures through advanced radioisotope technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage nuclear medicine technologists, ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Coordinate departmental schedules to maintain consistent coverage.
  • Organize workflows to guarantee an equitable distribution of tasks among staff.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on departmental protocols, imaging quality, patient positioning, and the administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Engage in personnel decisions including hiring, promotions, and performance evaluations.
  • Monitor compliance with safety regulations and infection control standards.
  • Facilitate training and orientation programs for new technologists.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost containment.
  • Manage departmental inventory and resources effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Qualifications:
  • Current certification as a Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist in California.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in radiology, with a strong background in nuclear medicine.
  • Proficient in operating imaging equipment and understanding relevant protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in BART or BLS at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within six months.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a nuclear medicine context.
  • Familiarity with computed tomography practices.

Special Conditions:
Flexibility in working hours is essential, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical examination.
