Job Summary
The City of Fontana is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Police Department as a Police Cadet. This is an exciting opportunity for recent high school graduates to gain valuable experience and skills in law enforcement while working under the supervision of experienced police officers.

Key Responsibilities
As a Police Cadet, you will perform a variety of police support duties and clerical assistance for the Fontana Police Department. This will include:

• Providing exceptional customer service to the public, responding to inquiries, and directing visitors to the appropriate staff member.
• Assisting with property control, including logging incoming property, releasing property, and transporting evidence to the crime lab.
• Supporting the police department's community outreach and engagement efforts, including building relationships with community members and organizations.
• Performing administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and preparing reports.
• Participating in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in law enforcement.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with college-level coursework in law enforcement.
• A valid California Class C Driver's License.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
