Job Summary

This position provides HVAC maintenance services to the Garland ISD Schools. The successful candidate will perform inspections, testing, repairs, and planned maintenance of advanced and complex commercial HVAC systems, including heavy commercial centrifugal and chiller systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex HVAC mechanical systems, including chillers, split systems, mini-split systems, multizones, VRV heat pump/recovery, RTUS, and packaged systems.
  • Coordinate work processes on large projects and perform disassembly and reassembly of commercial equipment to troubleshoot and perform planned maintenance.
  • Complete service contracts, quoted projects, and demand service calls as directed.
  • Develop long-term relationships with customers and explain work performed to their satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document project status to all project stakeholders.
  • Participate in technician on-call-stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
  • Safely operate motor vehicles and trailers.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicles.
  • Work effectively with app-based software.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in HVAC commercial service.
  • Advanced knowledge of service processes, techniques, and codes.
  • Proficient in reading complex schematics and prints.
  • Able to perform as a self-managed individual.
  • Display a professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills, and good written and oral communication capabilities.
