About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at ThedaCare. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology to implement appropriate imaging techniques using established protocols to acquire required images.
  • Adjust to changing or unusual circumstances and care for patients and families in a variety of settings to ensure their comfort and safety.
  • Apply critical thinking skills and ensure order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients.
  • Complete documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy or procedure, including proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Practice safety at all times, adhering to ALARA principles for proper radiation safety for team members and patients, using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices, and following hand hygiene to comply with government agencies or other regulatory bodies.
  • Assist providers in diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Hospital experience.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) registered or registry eligible or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Ultrasound) registered or registry eligible or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) registered or registry eligible.
  • If registry eligible, MUST be registered within six months of date of hire.
Work Environment

Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instruments. Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents. Occasional high noise level in work environment. Occasional contact with aggressive and/or combative patients. Use of computers throughout the work day. Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers. Repetitive motion of shoulders, arms, wrists, and hands while scanning patients. Frequent sitting with movement through department/hospital.
