Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Area Speech Language Pathologist to provide high-quality speech therapy services across multiple Spectrum School locations within an assigned region. The successful candidate will evaluate students, plan and implement individualized therapy programs, monitor progress, and collaborate with educational teams to enhance students' communication skills and overall development.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate students within designated programs to determine speech therapy needs and appropriate levels of service.
- Develop and implement individualized speech therapy plans based on assessments, student needs, and treatment goals.
- Set personalized goals in collaboration with parents, educators, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Regularly monitor and assess student progress towards therapy goals and update treatment plans as necessary to meet the developmental and individual needs of each student.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students, employing evidence-based strategies and techniques to improve speech, communication skills, language comprehension, and cognitive abilities.
- Document therapy sessions and progress notes accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with Spectrum policies and state regulations.
- Maintain detailed case records according to Spectrum policy and state regulations, ensuring all authorized documentation, including billing, is completed accurately within 24 hours of service delivery.
- Foster effective communication with families regarding session scheduling, make-up sessions, and progress updates.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to promote consistency and carryover of therapy goals into daily routines and educational activities.
- Participate actively in onsite multidisciplinary team meetings and regional conferences to discuss student progress and treatment recommendations.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to onsite program teams within assigned region, offering strategies to assist with the carryover of therapy goals.
- Mentor and support onsite educators and staff within each program location as needed to ensure effective implementation of student therapy plans.
- Conduct and/or oversee the timely completion of initial client intakes and clinical assessments and provide recommendations for program improvements.
- Oversee and evaluate the implementation of speech therapy programs across all school locations within assigned region to ensure clinical effectiveness, adherence to best practices, and that performance measures are being met.
- Maintain clinical quality standards by providing supervision, opportunities for employee training, and sharing clinical knowledge and/or counsel with the clinical team.
- Collaborate and build rapport with clients, caregivers, and families to provide support and improve the likelihood of best possible outcomes.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advancements in speech pathology and educational practices.
- Travel between and maintain appropriate onsite presence to provide oversight and direct services for all Spectrum School locations within assigned region.
- Perform additional duties and/or projects at the request of onsite Program Directors or as assigned by the Area/Regional VP, Operations.
- Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or a closely related field.
- Must hold currently or have ability to obtain a state speech language pathology (SLP) license.
- A valid state driver's license is required for travel between locations.
- Prior experience working with students with diverse needs in an educational setting and proven success in developing and implementing effective treatment plans.
- Advanced motivational, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and new initiatives.
- Highly effective oral and written communication.
- Well-versed in the use of relevant technology, including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment.
