Job Summary

Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD) is seeking a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor to teach an integrated Introduction to the History of Comics and Narrative Practice course.

Course Details

  • This is an in-person on-campus course.
  • The course introduces first-year students to the discipline of Comics through inter-related lectures, discussions, studio projects, and art historical assignments.
  • Students will apply their instruction about sequential art techniques and historical cartoonists to studio projects.
  • The course explores various topics, including nineteenth-century cartoons and twentieth-century comic strips, comic books, graphic novels, and design imagery.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the integrated Introduction to the History of Comics and Narrative Practice course.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with studio faculty and art history faculty to deliver a comprehensive and integrated curriculum.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in art or design history is required.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.
