POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role involves operational responsibilities for ensuring the secure functioning, daily oversight, and upkeep of the facility, including maintenance and repair of automatic retrieval systems, dock apparatus, minor electrical device repairs, plumbing, fleet maintenance, and security systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Exhibit a thorough understanding and compliance with all safety protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical controls (both high and low voltage) and familiarity with OSHA electrical safety standards; Title 29.
  • Understand and apply NFPA 70 National Electrical Code and NFPA 70E electrical safety guidelines.
  • Conduct electrical meter testing competently.
  • Have a working knowledge of OSHA electrical Arc Flash regulations.
  • Understand and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
  • Complete minor welding tasks as required.
  • Assist with various special projects related to building or grounds maintenance, including moving furniture, changing lights, and fulfilling basic repair needs to ensure timely maintenance completion.
  • Perform general facility upkeep, including light carpentry, painting, plumbing tasks, changing light bulbs, and minor electrical repairs.
  • Ensure the maintenance of facility assets through scheduled preventative upkeep and repairs, including roof inspections, concrete and asphalt assessments, and inspections of automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) and dock equipment.
  • Log time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily through work orders and preventative maintenance records.
  • Carry out daily refrigeration operator responsibilities, including inspections and logs.
  • Participate in the departmental on-call program as assigned.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe, and functional condition.
  • Follow all safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Respond to emergencies to ensure the safety of personnel and the facility.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the department.
  • Comply with OSHA and other local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures, including appropriate dress code, grooming, and attendance.
  • Engage effectively with colleagues, fostering relationships and demonstrating cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED);
  • Facility maintenance technical training (preferred).
Experience:
  • A minimum of four years in industrial facility and ASRS maintenance; or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Refrigeration Operator I/RETA CARO certification (preferred).

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and governmental regulations.
  • Competence in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
  • Must hold a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability insurance that meets company standards.
  • Complete a Sysco-approved defensive driving course.
  • Obtain Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within three months.
  • Electrical Arc Flash training (preferred).
  • Trade electrical I & II training (preferred).
  • Refrigeration Operator I RETA CARO certification (preferred).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands for handling, and reach with arms; may need to climb or balance.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; may need to work in confined spaces and around moving mechanical parts.
  • Work hours may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • Occasional travel to other operating companies or corporate offices may be required for training or business continuity.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
