SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional travel for service provision.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for supporting healthcare providers in delivering patient care, managing appointment schedules, handling clinic inquiries, and preparing examination rooms for patient assessments. Clinical responsibilities may include performing blood draws and facilitating hospital admissions.
Accurate and thorough documentation in patient medical records is essential. The LPN will provide patients with information to enhance their experience and ensure they benefit from the clinic's services, all while promoting a positive representation of the clinic.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director of Orthopedic Services
Supervises: None
Regular interactions with clinic staff, hospital personnel, physicians, patients, and their families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to the regulations and policies of Franklin Medical Center.
- Maintains a reliable attendance record and up-to-date health documentation.
- Participates in required training sessions, including safety and emergency protocols.
- Ensures confidentiality of all patient and staff information.
- Follows established infection control measures.
- Reports any unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately.
- Performs necessary computer functions.
- Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms between patient visits.
- Ensures adequate supply levels in work areas and exam rooms.
- Orders necessary supplies from purchasing and pharmacy departments.
- Organizes and maintains patient records accurately.
- Processes referrals and surgical clearances promptly.
- Coordinates patient appointments with the orthopedist's schedule for efficient operations.
- Triage patients by verifying their information, medical history, and reason for visit.
- Records vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, height, and temperature.
- Prepares patients for examinations and assists during procedures.
- Competent in performing suture and staple removals, casting, and basic wound care.
- Administers care as directed, including blood specimen collection and wound dressing.
- Demonstrates orthopedic products to patients for proper usage.
- Reviews physician orders and follow-up needs with patients.
- Responds to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Schedules appointments efficiently.
- Forwards clinic notes to referring providers promptly.
- Follows up with patients regarding test results and additional testing needs.
- Performs additional duties as assigned with diligence.
- Complies with all hospital policies while ensuring job responsibilities are met ethically.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, AND
- Completion of an accredited LPN program with an active, unrestricted license.
- Current BLS certification.
Work Experience:
- Preferred but not required: at least one (1) year of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in computer and office equipment usage.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Empathetic and responsive to patient needs.
- Strong communication and telephone skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Team-oriented mindset.
