Job Title: Paramedic PRN
Job Summary:
As a Paramedic PRN with Baptist Health, you will provide advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. You will administer direct care to patients of all age groups under the direction of an emergency medical physician, emergency physician's assistant, emergency advanced registered nurse practitioner, or utilize approved EMS medical protocols if transporting a patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to hospital and department policies as well as paramedic scope of practice.
- Provide patient assessment, intravenous therapy, cardiac management, cardiac monitor and defibrillator usage, neurovascular status, and other medical equipment as mandated by protocol and medical director.
- Manage trauma and medical emergencies, and participate in educational and special operations scenes as directed.
- Maintain vehicle readiness, portable ALS gear, and utilization.
- Ensure ambulance is clean, stocked, and response ready at the beginning and end of every shift, as well as prior to each and every request for service.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic Licensure by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
- Valid Kentucky Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) through the American Heart Association.
- Valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certifications (PALS) through the American Heart Association.
- Valid Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) through the American Heart Association.
- Other certifications and specialty training as required by the Kentucky Board of EMS.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
